Different ways to transport your car in South Africa

– The choice between door-to-door and depot-to-depot depends on the urgency of the transport.  Autofreight’s overnight car transport service leaves Gauteng on Tuesdays and arrives late Wednesday in Cape Town (delivery late Wednesday or Thursday morning).  The drivers collect vehicles from our clients’ addresses in Cape Town on Thursdays, drive right through and arrive on Fridays in Gauteng (except for delays en route).  This is a door-to-door service, with two full-time experienced drivers on the car carrier truck.

– With door-to-door car transport no specific times can be supplied, as there are many variables which can change collection/delivery times at any time eg weather, power failures, traffic, breakdowns, weigh bridges etc

– Autofreight can only commit to the driver phoning 30 – 60 minutes before arriving at the address.

– Door-to-door car transport is very convenient, but please keep in mind that the truck might not be able to get to your address, and you might have to meet it at the nearest access point (fortunately almost always only a couple of blocks away).

– Duration of depot-to-depot car transport depends on the route, and how busy the route is. Some companies have contracts in one direction, and return with fewer vehicles. Depots will plan a vehicle on the first available space, after the vehicle is booked in at the depot. Then an ETA can be given.
