Some routes are serviced by car carrier companies on a regular basis, while others off the main routes can take longer. Car transport between Gauteng and Cape Town, Gauteng and Durban, and between KZN and Cape Town are currently the most popular routes.

Companies have to operate on maximum effectiveness, and have to wait for full loads in order to break even with regards to costs.
